It doesn’t matter if you are trying to earn extra money to gain financial independence, retire early, if you want to pay off some debts, or if you need extra money for the weekend. The side hustles and ways to make money I collected in these ‘making money longlists,’ a little further down this page, will help you start an extra income stream.

Taking online surveys is a great way to earn extra pocket money. I would recommend SurveyJunkey and Opinion Inn, but there are over 20 gigs on that list, so I’m sure you will find something that works for you.
Still unsure? Read this before you start: Are Paid Surveys Legit and Do They Make You Money.

Or how about turning your keyboard into a cashing machine?
There are so many typing jobs and hustles to find, and they are becoming more and more popular for people that want to start working at home
Check out the Data Entry, or Transcribe lists as they contain great entry-level jobs.

Although many Proofreading jobs require a bit more than just typing skills, with the help of some courses, you can give yourself a nice headstart.
Not sure yet? Try this free proofreading introduction by Caitlin Pyle.

I could go on and on, but that’s not why you’re here, right? Let’s get to…

Making Money Longlists:

Where to Begin Finding your Side Hustle?

It does depend a bit on who you are and what kind of personality you have.

If you are a bit like me, a bit shy (in the beginning), and fighting that impostor syndrome every time again, then you will probably postpone starting or look for easily achievable jobs.

But you also know that it is ok to fail, that you probably won’t fail, and that you will learn a lot from the new experiences.

I had countless successful professional projects over the past 30 years, and the times I failed can be counted on one, maybe one and a half hand, but still, my mind keeps playing tricks on me and tells me that this time, I will go down hard.

Just start. Seriously, start with a side gig that looks attractive and doable. Surveys are easy as cake. You can do data entry without previous experience, and why not offer whatever skill you have on Fiverr. Trust me, what looks easy to you can be hard for others.
Take advantage of that and start making money from your experience.

I had zero experience as a photographer, but by looking at it as a learning experience, I had a lot of fun, learned great new skills, and got paid, too, selling stock photos.

And of course, you can always learn new skills! Check these Free Courses or take a look at the Fiverr Courses.

Or how about starting your own blog? The costs to start are minimal. You should be able to find a provider for just a couple of dollars a month.
The rest of it is investing time, a lot of time. But it is fun, and it is easy to start with. Check out my post about How to Start a Blog as a Newbie if this interests you.

If you are an over-enthusiastic extravert… well, you would probably not be reading this, but you have signed up for one of the gigs on the list already.

Anything Else Before Starting?

Yep. Fair warning: Where there is money involved, there are scammers.

Please take these tips and keep them in the back of your mind all the time:

  • If it seems too good to be true, you know it isn’t right.
  • You should never have to pay ‘membership’ fees to join a platform!
  • Online services with crappy websites? Red Flag!
  • Do Your Own Research. Check for reviews, find out if they are rated on sites like TrustPilot or Better Business Bureau. Ask around if you are in doubt.
  • Trust your instincts.

What’s next?

That depends. Did you like the ‘Making Money Longlists’? Please share it on social media or subscribe to get updates.

Didn’t like it, saw an error, or are you missing something? Let me know.

For now, thank you for visiting! You are awesome!
