Opinion Inn is gaining popularity amongst survey-takers, so it is time to take a closer look at what they have to offer and if it is worth it. Is it a scam? Are they legit? And of course, can you get paid for completing surveys at Opinion Inn? Let’s find out what they have to offer!
What is Opinion Inn and Should You Try It?
With Opinion Inn, you can earn money by completing surveys. How much depends on several things.
As with most survey sites it depends on the survey and how many surveys you participate in.
Just in case you don’t know what surveys are, or what these sites do, a short explanation:
Sites like Opinion Inn connect companies with an audience. Companies have questions about their products or want to find out more about their target audience and they are willing to pay for that data.
A part of that payment goes to you, for completing the survey, and another part of that payment goes to the survey platform.
A survey is nothing more than an interview. Researchers want to find out more about your preferences, background, routines, etcetera. You can’t fail and you are your own expert. Perfect!
The member dashboard of Opinion Inn will present you with a list of surveys you can take. It also provides you information on the survey topic and the reward.
If you find a survey you want to participate in, click it and walk through the qualification steps.
During the qualification, you will have to answer a couple of questions that are needed to determine if you match the target audience of the survey.
For example: If you never have driven or never will drive a car, then your answers on surveys about driving cars would not have much value to the company. In the qualification you will be ruled out for this particular survey.
No worries, more will follow!
How High Are The Rewards
According to the FAQs, rewards for completing surveys go from $0.25 to $20.
Occasionally there are special surveys with higher rewards and as the homepage says that rewards are given in the range of $0.50 to $100, the range will probably be between $0.25 and $100.
Pros and Cons
Let us take a quick look at the pros and cons of Opinion Inn.
As always, I like to start with the cons and finish with what is good about a site or platform.
- If you live outside of the US, UK, Canada, Australia, or India, you can still join, but there are far fewer surveys available (at least in my country).
- They seem to have dropped their referral program (it’s there in the old UI, but I can’t find it in the new one).
If I remember well, you were to earn $5 for every referral that reached the $25 payment threshold.
- Teens are not allowed to complete surveys. You have to be at least 18 years to participate.
- Very little company or background information is available.
- It is free to join (as it should be).
- Opinion Inn offers a great instant signup bonus of $10.
- The payment threshold is $25 dollars. Some consider this high but compared to others I believe this is average.
- Payments are made through PayPal, which is kind of the defacto standard.
- There is a monthly chance to win $500 in a draw amongst members that have participated in at least 5 surveys that month.
- Email notifications of newly available surveys.
- They are globally available (also see cons).
- The new UI is very user-friendly and fast.
- For those that like to use their smartphone: they do not have an app, but their website is mobile-friendly.
- You can choose to support global NGOs by offering a part of your incentive.
I Tried It
I signed up with Opinion Inn a while ago and I agree with the opinion that they have a user-friendly and fast user interface.
Not uncommon to a lot of global survey sites, the amount of surveys available for my country is low.
To tell the truth, I haven’t been offered a lot of opportunities since signing up. Others, in other regions of the world, seem to do well.
Is Opinion Inn Legit?
As I wrote before, there is very little background or company information available. This usually is a red flag, which they really should fix, because I don’t consider it as a flag here.
Let’s see what we can find out about them to determine if they are legit.
The earliest snapshot of their website on the Internet Archive dates February 2015. The copyright notice on that snapshot mentions 2014, which is supported by the WHOIS information.
The support email address mentioned on that snapshot refers to the domain of the Orchidea Research Group which has offices in Australia and India. They are a research and data collection company that has been around for over 2 decades. The same company is mentioned under organization in the WHOIS data.
Trustpilot score: 4.7/5
ScamAdviser score: 4.5/5
I think it’s fair to mention the resources I have used here:
They do have quite a long registration form that you need to fill before getting accepted. Once you have filled the form with our email address and profile data, you will receive an activation email shortly after.
Opinion Inn gets a lot of positive reviews. This makes me believe that you can really earn extra cash with them, given that you would need to live in a region where they provide a lot of surveys.
The $10 signup bonus is a nice starter, but of course, you will have to reach the $25 threshold first before you can collect.
I sincerely believe they are legit, but they would really benefit from disclosing more background or company information. This would take away some reservations people have.
Can you get paid for completing surveys at Opinion Inn? Judging on the reviews I’ve read I say yes.
As I haven’t completed a lot of surveys from them I, unfortunately, can’t tell you from my own experience.
