VIPKid provides an international learning experience to children between the age of 4 to 12 in China. They offer fully immersive one-on-one English language instructions provided online by highly qualified teachers.

Because of the high quality of education, they do require their applicants to have at least a Bachelor’s degree.

VIPKid’s curriculum team has already designed the classroom materials for every class. You can preview the class materials in the classroom on the teacher portal half a day in advance.

A class will have a guaranteed 25 minutes of teaching time, followed by a few minutes for comments. So let’s say 30 minutes per class, preparation time not included.

The recommended minimum time you should be available for classes is 7.5 hours during Beijing peak time (timetables are available on the website). You are not required to work a specific time length, but your availability in the recommended periods increases your options of being booked by students.

If you like to start teaching online, you should have access to a working computer, an internet connection, and equipment like a camera and a microphone.

They require you to give a 6-month minimum commitment, but the contract can be renewed after that period.

How to apply

Start with entering your email and preferred password. You will be taken to the online application form next.
Make sure to describe yourself and your teaching experience as detailed as possible.

After a selection, you will be interviewed by one of the VIPKid recruiters. You can also record a demo lesson so that the recruiter can evaluate you.

Review their material to learn about VIPKid technology, standards, and curriculum.

Practice teaching a full-length class with one of their VIPKid teachers and finally: sign your contract and upload the required documents.

The information you provide will help them to comply with online safety and security standards.

Getting Paid

In general, you could earn between $14-$22 per hour. Obviously, the more classes you teach, the more you can earn. There is no limit.

Payments are transferred directly to your bank account or your PayPal account.

Like they say on their website: Raise Your Hand if You Want to Get Started!
