When it comes to side gigs and generating an extra income stream, Fiverr is heaven. It is the world’s largest marketplace for digital services.
Let me show you some easy ways to make money with Fiverr.

It doesn’t matter what your skill is, you can offer your services on Fiverr (as long as it is legal).
Are you an expert at building websites? Describe why customers should choose you, set your price, and wait for your first customer.

Good at editing footage, logo design, or photoshop? A lot of people need your expertise!

Are you great with written words and you don’t like to join a proofreading service? Start your proofreading gig.
And if you are up to it, why not set up a gig to transcribe interviews next to that. You can sell as much as you can handle.

Well, ok, but I’m not an expert

Uhm, yes you are. You are skilled in some expertise that your potential customer doesn’t have. Or maybe they just don’t have the time to do it themselves. Either way, there is your opportunity.

You may argue that there are others out there that are better, but that should never be a problem. Make sure your customers know what to expect and set your price accordingly.

If you browse through all the different categories and descriptions on Fiverr you may even discover more skills you weren’t aware of. There are over 200 categories!

Tip: Fiverr has its own course section. So if you want to develop your skills, or if you have something awesome to teach others, then Fiverr Learn is where you should go.

Work from Home Jobs on Fiverr

As a digital marketplace, Fiverr is naturally one of the most logical options to start posting your service(s).

Don’t worry about not being the best after seeing the competition. There is a lot of work available and if you manage the expectations of your customers well, by giving a good description of your skills, what and how you will deliver, and what it will cost, you will do fine!

So let’s take a look at some of the interesting categories.

Data Entry Jobs

Data entry, in its broadest description, is what it says. It is the process of entering data into a system where humans or ai’s can recall and work with that data.

If you take a look at their data entry category, you can’t help to notice that this is a very diverse category, which presents a lot of opportunities for you to start, even at a beginner’s level.

Let’s sum up what we see in some profiles:

  • Data Entry / Typing / Copy Paste (quite a general description, but ok…)
  • Online Data Collection (scraping/extracting data from websites, sifting raw data, scraping emails, scraping social media, etc)
  • Fill Excel spreadsheets with data from PDF’s, Images, Websites, Business Cards
  • Formating / Filtering / Sorting / Cleaning Excel Data
  • PDF’s (scans) to Excel / Word / etc.
  • Conversions (Word to PDF, PDF to CSV, ePub, etc)
  • Web Research
  • Data Cleansing
  • Data Mining
  • CRM Data Entry
  • Mail Merge
  • Virtual Assistant

Although data entry seems like an easy job, it does require some important skills like accuracy, computer and communication skills, and of course typing speed.
To become more valuable to your clients it pays off to learn more about the nature and purpose of the data. Training your research and data-collection skills will increase your value.

Proofreading

The term proofreading is used for a lot of different types of work, ranging from checking for spelling and punctuation errors to editing/rewriting parts of a manuscript.
Fiverr differentiates between proofreading and copy editing.

Needless to say that you should have more than average skills in the language where you offer your proofreading skills in.

The good news is that there are ways to improve your proofreading skills. A great way to find out more about this is the 76-minute completely free workshop that Caitlin gives.

Depending on the type of document you offer proofreading services for, you may need to be familiar with certain style guides.

So what do we see in the profiles:

  • Proofread essays, manuscripts, theses, academic papers, publications. These jobs require you to be familiar with (academic) style guides.
  • Proofread blog posts, website copy, articles, social media posts, newsletters
  • Proofread personal or business correspondence, Curriculums or resumés, job applications
  • Proofread ebooks, novels, short stories

Some offer academic skills, some offer experience in certain files (legal, finance, business, etcetera) and some are just good with language.

Selling Courses

At the moment Fiverr offers opportunities to create  courses in the following categories:

  • Graphics and Design
  • Digital Marketing
  • Music and Audio
  • Programming and Tech
  • Video and Animation
  • Writing and Translation
  • Business
  • Fun and Lifestyle

There are a lot of tips available on their website, but the main message is: use/hire other Fiverrs to help you.

You don’t need to be a professional video editor to create your first video: hire a Fiverr.

They have professional animators, video editors, and composers available who can help you to create the videos you need for your course.

You could even let someone create your course for you.

Why you should try Fiverr

For one thing, the volume of potential customers is huge, which makes it easier to make money with Fiverr. They do sell a gig every 4 seconds…

Fiverr gives you all the tools and all the freedom you need to sell your skills. You can set your own prerequisites, delivery time, pricing, and terms.
All Fiverr does is make it easier for you to sell and earn.

They even have a free course to get you started!

And…

It is free to join Fiverr. You will not have to pay for subscriptions or pay a fee to get listed.

Fiverr takes a commission on your price. You will keep 80% of each transaction, which is quite a nice offer.
If you ever had to sell yourself as a freelancer and had to do the financial and transactional parts of a gig, you know that it can be very time-consuming.

Payment methods for withdrawal are: PayPal, Fiverr Revenue Card, Bank Transfer, and Direct Deposit (the latter two with Payoneer)

And…

Think further! How about hiring Fiverrs to create some beautiful designs based on your descriptions.

You could use those designs to sell unique shirts, caps, hoodies, etcetera on sites like Printify (make sure that it is ok with the designer before you do that).

And…

You can always sign up as an affiliate marketeer and promote Fiverr on your blog, website, or social media.

Signing up

You register yourself by entering your email address, picking a unique username, enter your preferred password, and click join.

All accounts on Fiverr are both buyer and seller accounts. Just click on the ‘Become a Seller’ button and follow the lead.

Let me know how it goes and if you manage to make money with Fiverr.

Happy Hustling!
