A lot of bloggers will tell you that you can make money with paid surveys, but they also claim that you can make certain amounts. But what would you have to do to reach that goal and how much time would it take? Can you make $500 a month with surveys?

Before we begin, I would like to share that I have tried paid surveys myself, but I never tried to reach a certain goal.

To me, surveys are a great way to fill some spare time. Like when I have to wait or take a short break, for instance.

From that experience, I can tell you that it is a really easy way to earn some money with it.
You do not need an education or special skills and you can do them from your computer or smartphone without any special hardware.

How do Surveys Work?

What surveys are all about is that you answer questions about your own situation. There are no wrong answers.

You will get paid in credits or dollars, but with most, you will need to reach a certain amount before you can request a payment.

That does sound easy right? You can earn money sipping tea on your couch.

But… If something is this easy, you should not be surprised that it doesn’t pay that much. Paid surveys are not something that will make you rich quickly.

How much does it pay?

It depends on the type of survey. Questions that are more privacy-sensitive are often better paid than the random ‘How often do you use Pinterest?’ type of question.

I have read about surveys that pay $100, but I’m not sure if that isn’t just a myth.

Most surveys pay between $0.35 to $10.00 and will take between a couple of minutes to an hour.

And there is the secret. The faster you can answer those questions, the more money you make per hour and the faster you reach your monthly goal.

You have to be picky. A 5-minute survey that pays $0.35 effectively earns you $0.07 a minute.
Try to stick to the surveys that pay $0.05 a minute or more.

Tips to Improve Your Speed

Basically, you have to do as many well-paying surveys as you can, in as little time as possible. Therefore you will need a good supply of surveys and you need to get yourself in a flow.

Survey sites do not have an infinite amount of surveys. Often you will have to wait until new surveys are available.

Tip 1: Create accounts on a lot of survey sites.

You will not get accepted for every survey. It all depends on your profile and if you fit the target audience.

Tip 2: Make sure to complete your profile. 

To speed up, you need to get in a flow.

Tip 3: Find yourself a good, quiet spot so you will not be distracted.

Tip 4: Motivate yourself. Set your mind into working mode for a certain period of time.

Find out how you can answer the questions the fastest. Limit the movements of your mouse. Try to use the keyboards as much as possible.

Tip 5: Focus on efficiency.

Conclusion

Can you make $500 a month with surveys? Yes, it is possible (according to the math), but you will have to work hard for it.

But you have to grind and be picky about which surveys you participate in. This limits the number of surveys, so you will have to register on a lot of sites to have a good constant flow of surveys.
